Smokers life

How I got into nicotine bandwagon.

I was a smoker for almost 16 years, I started puffing my way to the nicotine world since I was 15 years old. In my country (waaayyy! back then) underage smoking was not strictly implemented. Imagine my father asked my to buy him 10 sticks of cigarettes and he told me to lit it up for him, by the way I was 13 by that time. It looks like I have my fathers blessing to smoke cigarettes.
But that alone didn't get me into smoking.

It was my friends who put the cigarettes in my mouth. I still remember the time I caught my underage friends who have been smoking since they are 13 years old. And Yes! They have already a permission to do it. Seeing from their parents they soon began to puff the white smoke with them.

Friends told me to try smoking while playing "Dungeons and Dragons", its like the caffeine + nicotine + fantasy to them. And they have almost unlimited supplies of Marlboro and Philip Morris. And there it is, I got "nicotinized" under the Marlboro religion. Why I got into smoking? they are my only friends...

Ahh.. the benefits of smoking. In my country/city it is legal to smoke almost everywhere. (now it implements smoking ban almost everywhere) being awesome is having a pack of cigarette and sharing it to everyone. In parties and pubs, I can attract the opposite sex by putting the stick in my mouth and exhale my awesomeness.

Last stick to kick the habit

So why did I quit?
1. For my wife and she is not a smoker
Like magnet we were attracted to each other and like magnet we were pulling each other.
she didn't urge me stop smoking but she told me that smoking looks kinda cool.
It looks like I am pulling her to my bad habit and that scares the s#it out of me.
Life kicked the hell out of me,  I don't want her to be a sucked in the smoking life.
Realizing that, if our children sees us smoking soon they will be smokers like us.
(one of the reason that I got my interest in smoking.. the parents)

2. Life - there is no such thing as smoker for life
I realized if I continue this habit I am throwing away the minutes/days/years of my life.
Those wasted years, I could have been enjoying with my children or grandchildren.
also I want to enjoy the rest of my life with my wife for a loooooooonnnnggg time!

I don't need have many reason to kick the bad habit. Those are enough to convince me to live a healthy life.
